Greg Marter enters his second season as the tight ends coach and his ninth overall season as a member of the Husson football coaching staff in 2019.

RECENTLY:

In his first season back on the Eagle sidelines, Marter saw his tight ends junior Keyshaun Robinson and sophomore Aidan Hogan excel under his guideance in 2018 with Robinson earning First Team All-Conference honors. Robinson caught 38 passes for 526 yards and seven touchdowns, which was a school record for tight ends. Hogan hauled in five catches for seven yards while proving essential to the Eagles’ rushing attack.

PAST SEASONS:

During his first stint as a member of the Eagle coaching staff, Marter helped established a program known for its hard-nosed rushing attack and physical defense. In his first season on the staff, Eagles posted their first victory in program history on October 9th, 2004 at the Winkin Sports Complex against Southern Virginia University, 28-14. The team continued to progress under his guidance, recording its first winning season in 2006 and going 7-3 in 2008, advancing to the ECAC Northeast Bowl Game. During the eight year run, Marter severed as the defensive line coach and helped the Eagles post a 30-45 overall record with one postseason appearance in 2008.

PREVIOUSLY:

At Old Town High School before returning to Husson in the fall of 2018, Marter coached the offensive and defensive lines, and served as the Special Teams Coordinator in his two seasons (2016-17) on the Coyotes' coaching staff. Prior to coaching at Old Town, Marter was an assistant coach at Stearns High School from 2013-17, serving as the Defensive and Special Teams Coordinator and coaching the offensive and defensive lines.

He has also coached basketball at Stearns from 2010-17, at Penobscot Valley High School from 2005-09 and currently coaches the Maine Select AAU U16 Boys team.

PERSONAL:

Marter earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Columbia State University in 1993.

A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Marter attended Bishop McDevitt High School. He currently resides in Millinocket, Maine. He has two daughters, Kirsten, who graduated from Husson in 2016 and is a teacher in East Millinocket, and Marissa who will be a freshman this year at Husson.
