Shaunessy Saucier

Shaunessy Saucier was named the head coach of the Husson University field hockey program in July of 2026.

Saucier brings nearly two decades of coaching experience at the high school, club, and NCAA Division I levels to Husson. Her background includes leading nationally competitive programs, developing student-athletes on and off the field, and building a culture centered on academic and athletic success.

Saucier has served as the varsity field hockey coach at Nokomis Regional High School since 2020, where she has helped guide the program while also teaching Spanish. In addition to coaching field hockey, she has taken on numerous leadership roles within the school community, including serving as a faculty leader for international travel programs, Spanish Club facilitator, Unified Basketball coach, yearbook editor, advisory committee member, and contributor to school public relations and social media communications. She also currently serves on the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American Committee.

Prior to her time at Nokomis, Saucier spent eight seasons as the head field hockey coach at Bryant University from 2008-16 after serving as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs and at the University of Maine. During her tenure at Bryant, she managed all aspects of the NCAA Division I program, including recruiting, scholarship management, staff supervision, practice planning, team travel, fundraising, and oversight of the team's operating budget.

Saucier also guided the Bulldogs to success in the classroom, with the program posting a 3.57 team grade point average during the fall of 2016, ranking fifth nationally.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Saucier has worked as the owner and director of Black Bear Elite Field Hockey Club, a recruiting specialist with NCSA, and in business development and external affairs roles with Black Bear Sports Properties and the University of Maine.

A graduate of the University of Maine, Saucier earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish before completing a Master of Education in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction in 2025. She holds a USA Field Hockey Level 2 Certification and is a graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy.
