Zach Sugar was named the head coach of the Husson University baseball team in June of 2025. 
 
In addition to his coaching duties, Sugar also serves as the director of facilities and event management at Husson after working as an assistant coach for the Eagles since 2018.

In Sugar's first season as head coach, the Eagles captured the North Atlantic Conference title and appeared in the NCAA Division III Montclair, New Jersey Regional.

As an assistant coach, Sugar helped the Eagles to five-straight NAC titles and five-consecutive NCAA Regional appearances, while compiling a 152-95 overall record, including an 86-15 mark in NAC games.

In addition to coaching at Husson, Sugar coached the Hampden Riverdogs to a 2019 American Legion State Championship and a berth into the New England Regional.
 
Sugar was a two-year letter-winner for the Eagles in 2015 and 2016 after transferring to Husson from Sussex County Community College, as the Eagles went 49-38 during Sugar's two years as a player and recorded a North Atlantic Conference runner-up finish in 2016. Over 63 career games played, Sugar recorded a .282 batting average with 50 hits, three home runs, 31 RBIs, 24 walks and six stolen bases. 

Sugar is a native of Canton, Connecticut where he attended South Kent High School. Sugar obtained his bachelor's of science in business administration with a concentration in sport management from Husson in 2017.

Sugar resides in Hermon, Maine with his wife Gabby (Husson alumna) and their children
