LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its players and pitchers to watch for Division III on Thursday and Husson University softball junior pitcher Ana Lang was among the names.
118 student-athletes were named in total and the list is separated into the 10 NCAA regions and is compiled by the elected members of the NFCA Division III All-America Committee with one head coach representing each of the 10 NCAA regions.
Voted on by the NFCA's Division III All-America Committee, the 2026 NFCA Player and NFCA/Portolite Pitcher of the Year winners will be announced on May 27 prior to the start of the NCAA Division III World Series.
Student-athletes do not have to be on this watchlist to be considered for end-of-season awards, which will be voted on by the members of the NFCA Division III All-America Committee. To be eligible to be selected for NFCA Player and NFCA/Portolite Pitcher of the Year honors, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member.
Lang dazzled in the circle to open her junior campaign, appearing in 10 games, making seven starts, in Husson's 14 game trip to Florida for the Spring Games to pick up pitcher of the week honors for both the North Atlantic Conference and the Maine College Baseball and Softball Association on Mar. 17. The right-hander tossed 53 innings over her 10 appearances, totaling a 0.53 ERA, a 0.97 WHIP, a .157 batting average against, 74 strikeouts, a 6-1 record, four shutouts and posted three saves, which moved her into first all-time for most career saves in Husson softball.
Lang especially showed out in Husson's two victories over ranked teams, as against No. 11 Moravian University and No. 16 Case Western Reserve University, Lang combined to throw 14 scoreless innings, striking out 22, while surrendering just six hits.
The Eagles return to the field on Tuesday when they head to Bates College for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
