DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Husson University baseball team fell to Marymount University (Va.), 14–3, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon at the RussMatt Invitational.

Marymount (8-5) struck first in the bottom of the opening inning, capitalizing on a leadoff walk and an error to score the game's first run before adding another on a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead. The Saints added another run in the second inning after loading the bases and being hit by a pitch with two outs, extending the advantage to 3-0.

Husson (1-4) got on the board in the top of the third inning when senior Cam Rendell launched a solo home run to cut the deficit to 3-1.

Marymount responded with two runs in the bottom of the third inning, highlighted by an RBI single and a sacrifice bunt that made it 5-1. The Saints then broke the game open in the fourth inning with eight runs, including a two-run home run from Anthony Farmakides and a two-run single from Quincy Via as the lead grew to 13-1.

The Saints added another run in the fifth inning to extend their advantage to 14-1 before the Eagles plated two runs in the sixth. Freshman Casey Colby reached base on an error before junior Matt Holmes connected for a two-run home run to right field, bringing the score to 14-3.
