BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's tennis team turned in a flawless performance on Sunday morning, blanking SUNY Delhi 7–0 at the Bangor High School Tennis Courts.
The Eagles (7-1, 4-1 NAC) jumped out to a commanding lead by winning all six singles matches. At the top spot, senior Julia Barber controlled the match from the start for a 6–2, 6–0 victory, while senior Joey Lynn Ramsdell followed with a steady 6–2, 6–2 win at No. 2.
Junior Kayla Lockhart turned in a dominant 6–1, 6–0 performance at No. 3, while sophomore Anah Albert powered to a 6–0, 6–1 victory on court four.
Sophomore Mallory Beaulieu and freshman Katelyn Cotter both posted flawless 6–0, 6–0 results at the fifth and sixth flights, quickly clinching the team match.
With the match already secured, Husson carried its momentum into doubles. Barber and Ramsdell teamed up for a 6–1 win at No. 1, while Lockhart and Albert cruised 6–0 at No. 2 and the duo of freshman Sadie May and Cotter wrapped up the sweep with a 6–0 decision at No. 3.
Husson will host the University of New England in its final home contest of the season on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
