BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting RV/No. 12 Bates College team on Tuesday night, as Husson fell 98-50 to the Bobcats at Newman Gymnasium.

Husson (1-1) kept it close in the opening quarter, trailing 25-16 to Bates (2–0), but the Bobcats caught fire in the second quarter, shooting 63% from the field and a blistering 75% from three, building a lead the Eagles couldn't overcome.

At the end of the half, Bates led 54-26 with three players scoring 10 points. Sophomore Lilly Roy would be Husson's leading scorer at the break, also having 10.

The second half would be more of the same, with the Bobcats outsourcing the Eagles 26-15 in the third quarter and 18-9 in the fourth.

Roy would be the only Husson player to end up in double-digit scoring, ending the game with 15 points, with sophomore Saige Evans contributing seven of her own.

The Eagles shot just 31.5% from the field, with a 31.3% success rate from beyond the arc, and converted 11-12 free throws.

Husson will look to bounce back on Friday when they take on Thomas College in Waterville at 5:30 p.m. in North Atlantic Conference play.
