WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference released its weekly awards for men's basketball on Monday and Husson University men's basketball freshman Pierce Walston was selected as defensive player of the week.
Walston made an instant impact for Husson in a 1-1 week against the University of Maine at Fort Kent and Saint Joseph's College of Maine. Walston recorded two steals and six defensive rebounds in a 113-90 victory over UMFK on Monday, in addition to five steals on Saturday against Saint Joseph's in an 89-69 loss.
Additionally for the Eagles, junior Andre McCauley was named to the honor roll after scoring 12 points and dishing out five assists against UMFK, in addition to pouring in a game-high 22 points against SJC.
The Eagles return to the court tomorrow when they host Bates College at 7:30 p.m.
