BANGOR, Maine — Husson University's Department of Athletics brought back its annual golf tournament sponsored by Stay Bar Harbor on Monday, June 3, at Bangor Municipal Golf Club. The fundraiser provided 19 foursomes with a fun day of golf with proceeds benefitting the Husson student-athlete experience.
"Monday proved to be a fantastic day for golf, and it was great to see so many of our alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Husson University athletics join us as we brought back our golf outing after a five-year hiatus," stated Director of Athletics John Sutyak. "We are thankful for all of our sponsors who contributed to this event, especially our title sponsor, Stay Bar Harbor, our putting green sponsor, Performance Physical Therapy and our registration sponsor, Wight's Sporting Goods."
The tournament was won by the team of Jim Thomas, Ryan Soucy, Ben Walls and Andy Nickerson who finished with a 16-under-par performance.
"We are especially appreciative of our participants, as well as many volunteers from the department of athletics and advancement, who helped to make this event a success," Sutyak added. "This was a team effort across multiple divisions, and we are looking forward to taking what we learned and enhancing this event next year."
Participants enjoyed a round of golf, lunch, refreshments and gifts for being a part of the tournament.
