CASTINE, Maine — The Husson University women's swimming & diving team dropped a tightly contested 116-105 meet on the road against Maine Maritime Academy on Wednesday evening.
The Eagles started off the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay as the team of senior
Erin Madden, sophomore
Logan Williams and freshmen
Morgan Collins and
Mariah Muskavitch posted a time of 2:05.75, while freshman
Sofia Herrington, senior
Grace Rocheleau and sophomore's
Mackenzie Gray and
Mia Winslow finished third with a 2:14.46.
Freshman Gabby Hoffmann posted a 13:01.08 in the 1,000-yard freestyle to finished second and sophomore
Olivia Underwood clocked a 2:22.90 in the 200-yard freestyle to finished second ahead of Herrington who turned in a time of 2:28.12 to finish third.
Muskavitch won the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a 27.50, while freshman
Riley Crosby finished third with a 30:63.
Madden posted a time of 2:27.65 in the 200-yard IM, beating the second-place swimmer by nearly 12 seconds.
Junior
Riley Mahoney finished second in the one-meter, six-dive event with a score of 184.35 and freshman Mairen Hoch finished third at 134.15.
Collins added to the Eagles score by winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.25.
Underwood and Crosby added second and third-place performances in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:05.98 and 1:08.15, respectively.
Winslow and Herrington finished second and third, respectively in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking times of 1:09.95 and 1:12.81.
Hoffmann added another second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:23.54, while Williams finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:24.13.
Husson's concluded the evening with second and third-place performances in the 400-yard freestyle, the team of Madden, Collins, Muskavitch and Winslow posted a 4:08.74, while Crosby, Underwood, Hoffmann and junior
Maggie Poulin added a 4:33.56.
Next up for the Eagles is the two-day State of Maine Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by Colby College on Dec. 6 and 7.
