CASTINE, Maine — The Husson University men's swimming & diving team fell to Maine Maritime Academy 124-97 on the road Wednesday evening.
The Eagles 200-yard medley relay team of junior's
Alex Walsh,
Ryan Emerson,
Brady Hand and
Brayden Champlin won the opening event with a time of 1:41.94.
Senior
Nathan Gilliam finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a mark of 11:14.62, while Walsh won the 200-yard freestyle by .21 seconds with a time of 1:51.29.
Junior
Sam Peiser posted a time of 23:35 in the 50-yard freestyle to finish second and Hand won the 200-yard IM by nearly 10 second with a time of 2:05.45.
Senior
Matt Steeves finished third in the one-meter, six-dive event with a score of 165.05.
Hand won his second event of the evening with a time of 55.89 in the 100-yard butterfly, while junior
Lucas Fendl finished third with a 58.06.
Champlin and Peiser clocked times of 50.76 and 52.11 in the 100-yard freestyle to finish second and third respectively.
Emerson won the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 56.04, while Gilliam finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.23.
Freshman
Jake Perkins finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a 1:08.64, while Husson's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Champlin, Peiser, Walsh and Emerson won by nearly 12 seconds in the final event of the evening with a time of 3:21.93.
The Eagles will now turn their attention to the State of Maine Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by Colby College on Dec. 6 and 7.
