BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University volleyball team put together a complete-team sweep of the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Saturday winning both matches by 3-0 finals.
Husson (5-10, 3-2 NAC) and UMPI (6-12, 4-4 NAC) battled throughout the opening set of Saturday opening NAC match with the Eagles coming away with a 25-23 set-one win.
The Eagles claimed the second set 25-20 and the third set 25-17 to pick up the opening match victory.
Sophomore
Janna Preskorn dominated on the floor for the Eagles, racking up an 18-kill, 11-dig double double while hitting .375.
Senior
Alexa Beal and sophomore
Alana Peruti both recorded four kills each, while senior
Alyvia McIntyre made history recording 28 assists in the match to become the all-time program leader in career assists.
Senior
Beatrice Tursi finished with eight digs and three service aces, while freshman Amanda Morse tallied seven digs and four aces.
Game two of Saturday's doubleheader would be all Eagles as Husson rattled off three-straight set wins by finals of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-14 to pick up two wins.
Senior
Julia Leavitt impressed for the Eagles tallying 10 kills and a .471 hitting percentage while also posting seven digs and three aces.
Beal and sophomore
Maddie Sheppard each added five kills, while Tursi scooped up a game-high 15 digs.
McIntyre finished with a game-high 25 assists and five service aces as Husson finished the match with 16 aces.
Husson will host the University of New England on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
