BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's volleyball team opened their home schedule on Tuesday evening as they suffered a 3-0 defeated to the Bates College Bobcats at Newman Gymnasium.
The first set saw the Eagles (0-3) and Bobcats (1-0) battled to a 6-6 start, before the road team took over to match in which they lead, 21-12. The Eagles were able to storm back into the match and tie it at 22, before the Bobcats scored the final three points for the set one victory.
Bates carried the energy from the first set into the second one as within a blink of an eye they was up 6-1 as they cruised into victory for set number two.
The Eagles and Bobcats played to a back-and-forth third set as they was tied at 14, before Bates was able to win 11 out of the final 18 points en route to their first victory of the season.
The green and gold recorded 19 kills with freshman Janna Preskorn equalling nine of them while senior Cheyanne Young recorded four. Young also recorded two aces, two blocks, and six digs while junior Alyvia McIntyre picked up 13 assists and seven digs.
It's back on the road for the Eagles as they will head to New Hampshire College on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. contest in Henniker.
