LYNDONVILLE, Maine - The Husson University women's tennis team began their Vermont trip on Saturday afternoon with a, 9-0, North Atlantic Conference victory over Vermont State University of Lyndon.
Sophomore Julia Barber and senior Molly Chicoine won the first doubles match, 8-0, while juniors Olivia Chandler and Hannah Duley eased to victory in the second doubles match with the same score. The Hornets (0-8, 0-4 NAC) were unable to field a third pairing so Eagles (4-2, 2-2 NAC) won that point by default.
The singles followed the exact way that the doubles ended with Barber, senior Emily Doten, Chicoine, and sophomore Joey Lynn Ramsdell winning the first four singles matches by the score of 6-0, 6-0. Singles matches five and six were unplayed.
The road trip and the regular season concludes tomorrow when they take on Vermont State University of Johnson with the doubles matches starting at 10:00 a.m.
