OLD TOWN, Maine – The Husson University women's tennis dropped their second consecutive match in as many days with a 5-4 North Atlantic Conference loss to Lesley University on Sunday morning at Old Town High School.
The Lynx earned the first two points of the match via victories in the first and second doubles match, but the Eagles (3-2, 2-2 NAC) were able to grab a point in the third doubles match. The pairing of senior Emily Doten and sophomore Joey Lynn Ramsdell recorded a 8-0 victory.
In the singles, Lesley won matches 1-3, while the Eagles won the 4-6 matches as both teams earned three points which allowed the visitors to win the match, 5-4. Ramsdall in the fourth match won, (6-4, 6-4), while junior Hannah Duley had to play a tiebreak in order to win the fifth match, (3-6, 7-5, 10-8). Freshman Kayla Lockhart had no issues in the sixth singles match as she won (6-0, 6-0).
The women's tennis team completes the regular season next weekend with a trip to Vermont as they will take on Vermont State University at Lyndon on Saturday and VTSU-Johnson on Sunday.
