MEDFORD, Mass. — The Husson University softball team dropped a hard-fought 4-0 decision to Cabrini University in the final game of its NCAA Regional appearance on Friday.
Cabrini (30-13) struck for runs in the first and second inning to take a 2-0 advantage over Husson (30-14-1) who was limited to just one baserunner on the afternoon.

McKenna Smith kept the deficit at 2-0 with scoreless third, fourth and fifth innings, but Cabrini added a pair of runs in the sixth to extend its advantage to 4-0, before retiring the Eagles in order in the seventh to earn the 4-0 decision.
Smith went the distance for the Eagles tossing six innings while striking out seven batters.
With the loss, Husson's season comes to a close after earning its sixth-straight NCAA Regional appearance.
