WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference unveiled its 2023 men's lacrosse all-conference team on Wednesday and Husson University had five players earn all-conference honors while
Mike O'Neill was named coach of the year.
Senior's
Gunner McAllister and
Jacob Larochelle captured first team honors while freshman
Bryce DeRonda, senior
Gus Eisenmann and senior
Matt Boynton earned second team recognition.
McAllister led the Eagles with 53 goals while finishing second in the NAC. McAllister added 12 assists, 39 ground balls, 17 caused turnovers and 11 man-up scores.
Larochelle capped off an impressive career finishing as the Eagles all-time career and single-season leader in faceoffs, while leading the NAC with 314 faceoff wins and a .618 faceoff percentage. Additionally, Larochelle tallied four goals, six assists and a league-high 202 ground balls.
Boynton led the Eagles with 29 assists while adding 37 goals for a team-high 66 points. Boynton recorded three game-winning scores, 45 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
Eisenmann ranked among the top defenders in the NAC with 58 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers while adding one goal and four assists on the season.
DeRonda capped off an impressive freshman season finishing fifth on the team with 20 goals, while adding four assists, 32 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
Senior
Tristan Swan earned sportsmanship team recognition while O'Neill captured his first coach of the year honor.
O'Neill led the Eagles to a 9-8 mark and a 4-5 record in conference, posting the Eagles first winning season in over a decade and helping Husson earn the No. 4 seed in the NAC tournament.
