FARMINGTON, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team fell to the University of Maine at Presque Isle, 97-87, in a North Atlantic Conference East Division semifinals at Dearborn Gym on Friday night.
The Owls held a game-high 14-point (30-16) advantage with 6:26 left in the first half, but the Eagles posted a 19-6 run to cut the deficit to just one point heading into intermission.
The in-state rivals swapped the lead six times early in the second half, but the Owls posted their first double-digit lead of the half when senior Dany Harris tipped in his own missed layup to make it 60-49 with 12:57 left.
Husson (13-13) countered quickly with a 3-pointer by sophomore
Corey Humbles and a jumper by junior
Jeremy Moronta over the next 53 seconds to trim the UMaine-Presque Isle (13-13) lead down to six. However, the Owls answered with eight unanswered points in just over two minutes to push their lead back to 14 and cruised the rest of the way for the 97-87 victory.

Justice Kendall led the Eagles with 21 points, two steals, six assists and two rebounds. Senior
Derek Collin scored a season-high 16 points with seven boards. Junior
Scott Lewis added 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Moronta and senior
J Thomas came off the bench to net 11 and 10 points, respectively. Â Moronta also chipped in seven boards, two steals and two assists in the setback.
With the defeat, the season has come to a close for the Husson men's basketball team.
