BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's basketball team added another talented recruit to its 2024-25 recruiting class on Tuesday. Wisdom Middle High School standout, Lilly Roy has committed to attend Husson in the Fall of 2024.
Roy is the fourth commit head coach Kissy Walker has announced this semester.
A 5'9 guard from Frenchville, Maine, Roy is coached by Scott Pelletier and Tracey Guerrette. Lilly has been a five-year starter for the Pioneers, starting on the varsity since the eighth grade. She helped lead her team last season to the Northern Maine Regional Finals. Lilly averaged 24-points a game her
junior season and has already recorded her 1000-career point.
"Lilly is one of the best players up in the County and we are really pleased she has chosen Husson," said Walker. "Our program has had success by getting some of the top players up in Aroostook County. Lilly is a scorer, she does a little bit of everything. Her focus on the floor is tremendous, she has a consistent shot, leads by example and she makes everyone around her better."
Lilly is a four-sport athlete, playing soccer — scoring over 100 goals and being selected as the Maine State Class D Player of the Year this past season. She also plays volleyball and softball.
Academically, Lilly is a high honors student and she has received multiple scholar awards. She is the president of student council, class president, National Honors Society President and she belongs to the athletic club.
In her spare time, Lilly works as a CNA and she plans to study nursing will attending Husson.
