LEXINGTON, Mass. – The Husson University women's soccer team fell 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the hands of Maine Maritime Academy in the North Atlantic Conference East Division semifinals at Lesley University's Minuteman Field.
The Eagles (12-6-1) and Mariners (13-4-1) played to a scoreless opening 45 minutes of play that saw Husson outshoot 6-4, including a 2-1 edge in shots on target.
Maine Maritime was able to find the eventual winner in the 50th minute of play as Delaney Ennis secured her third goal of the season.
The Mariners would tack on an insurance goal in the 62nd minute off the foot of Sophia Hernandez to double their lead.
The Eagles were unable to find the back of the net in the remaining 28 minutes of play as the Mariners clinched their spot in the NAC East title game.
Sophomore Madison Weigler was in net for Husson and made four saves on six shots faced.
With the loss the season has come to an end for the Husson University women's soccer team.
