BANGOR, Maine –  The Husson University Women's Basketball team showed their aggressive defense skills against the Thomas College during a 95-22 North Atlantic Conference contest. Husson also showcased their deep bench as every player found the scoring column during the game.

In the first quarter of the game the Eagles (15-6, 9-1 NAC) held the Terriers (2-18, 1-9 NAC) to just two points, tying the school record for fewest points allowed in a quarter. The first quarter set the tone for the game as the Eagles went on a 17-0 run to start the game, eventually scoring 30 points in the quarter in addition to holding a 46-9 edge at the halftime break.

Husson continued to pile on the points in the final two quarters scoring 49 points in the second half. The Eagles continued to play aggressive as they did in the first half, amassing 48 steals and 42 rebounds in the game.

Graduate student Vanessa Duarte led Husson offensively as she poured in 23 points, in addition to ripping down six rebounds and dishing out five assists. Sophomore Hannah Richards scored 19 points and recorded five steals, while fellow sophomore Sophia McVicar rounded-out the double-digit scoring with 11.

Prior to the contest, the team honored their lone graduate Vanessa Duarte for her five years of dedication to the program.

It's back on the road for one final time in the regular season when the women's basketball team will head north to visit the University of Maine Presque Isle Owls. The NAC contest is set to tip-off on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
