BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team opened the home part of their schedule on Wednesday evening as they were shut out by the University of Maine at Fort Kent, 3-0, at Boucher Field.
It was an even first half as both schools struggled getting shots on target with the Bengals (2-0-1) leading two and the Eagles (1-2-0) getting one. All three shots on goal were saved in the first half.
In the second half, it was the pace of Brittney Thompson that broke open the Eagles' defense as she netted a brace while Chelsea Thornburgh opened the scoring as it was all in a 13 minute period.

Hannah Kenney made three saves in the contest while sophomores
Charlotte Messer and
Kate Harriman each record three shots.
It's on to North Atlantic Conference action for the women's soccer team as they will travel to western Maine to take on the University of Maine at Farmington with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
