Men's soccer draw with SUNY Delhi in NAC action

Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's soccer team was held to a 1-1 draw at Boucher Field on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference action.

It took until the 21st minute for either team to have a serious chance on goal and it was the Eagles (3-2-2, 2-0-1) who took advantage of the opportunity. Sophomore Mosi Masimango laid a perfectly placed ball into the edge of the box where freshman Patricio Reygades was there to fire a shot on goal. His shot was saved by the Broncos' keeper but only as far as freshman Carlos Etchevers and he powered the shot home for his first collegiate goal.

In the second half, SUNY Delhi battled and battled for the tying goal and they was rewarded in the 78th minute. A cross into box found the head of Justin Huallanca and he put it off the frame of the goal and into the net for the game-tying goal.

Both teams had chances for the winner but the goalkeepers stood tall as both teams came away with a point in the North Atlantic Conference standings.

""Today we were not very good," said head coach Gavin Penny. "It's not acceptable and we don't pick up points. Today was a carbon copy of last year's semifinal and we are not learning.  We had chance-after-chance and cannot find the back of the net, and then they put the ball in our box and we basically score for them. It's a tremendously bad error and we have allowed them back into the game. I expect a response, a quality performance in our next opportunity, and that starts tomorrow."

It's back to work tomorrow as the Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill come to Boucher Field for a NAC fixture starting at noon.
