Box Score PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team dropped a 87-79 North Atlantic Conference decision to the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls on Tuesday night at Wieden Hall. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 8-3 in the NAC and 11-9 overall while the Owls improve to 6-4 and 12-9, respectively.
It was an even start to the action up north as the game was tied at five different times in the first four minutes before the Eagles took over the half and never relinquished the lead in the half after Justice Kendall hit a three to make it 13-10. Husson would end up leading by as much as 16 but the Owls ended the first half on a 8-2 run as the Eagles held a 47-40 lead at halftime.
The Eagles used a 13-0 run to extend the lead at the start of the second half to make it a 69-49 before the Owls responded with a 21-0 run to take a 70-69 lead with five minutes left. The Eagles had multiple chances to even the score but the Owls ended the game on a 17-9 run en route to the victory.
Graduate student Justin Thompson recorded a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds while senior Justice Kendall scored a team-high 22 points.
Husson closes out the record season as they travel to Castine, Maine to take on Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, February 12th at 1:00 p.m.
