LYNDONVILLE, Vt. –  The Husson University women's basketball team came alive in the second half scoring 48 of its 79 points to beat Northern Vermont University-Lyndon 79-50 to remain unbeaten in North Atlantic Conference play on the road Friday evening. 

Husson (13-4, 9-0 NAC) opened Friday's meeting with a 18-12 first half lead, however NVU-Lyndon (7-8, 2-6 NAC) closed that gap to just three points at the break with a 16-13 second quarter run. 

It would be all Eagles in the second half though opening up a 16-point advantage following a 27-14 run in the third quarter and led by as many as 31 points thanks in part to a 21-8 fourth quarter margin. 

Junior Bailey Donovan finished with a game-high 30 points and 10 rebounds for her 12th double-double on the year while sophomore Makaelyn Porter matched a career-high with 17 points and dished out a game-high five assists. 

Senior Vanessa Duarte tallied nine points and six rebounds while freshman Roxanne Sasse added seven points.

The Eagles finished shooting 53.3 percent from the floor and scored 42 of their 79 points in the paint and an additional 22 off turnovers. 

Additionally, Husson tallied a 23-10 assist margin and controlled a 43-27 edge on the boards. 

Husson returns to action on Saturday when it completes its two-game series with NVU-Lyndon beginning at 3 p.m.
