Box Score CASTINE, Maine — The Husson University women's basketball team dropped its regular-season finale on the road against Maine Maritime Academy in North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday.
Maine Maritime (19-3, 12-1 NAC) was able to take a 13-5 edge following the opening quarter of play as Husson (16-5, 11-1 NAC) shot just 14.3 percent from the floor.
The Eagles began to get their offense going in the second quarter pulling with 14-13 of MMA in the quarter and trailing 27-18 at the break.
The Mariners, however, opened the second half with a 20-14 third quarter run before Husson won the final quarter of play 26-21, but the damage had been done early.
Junior Bailey Donovan led all scorers with a game-high 24 points and 19 rebounds adding to herconference lead in double-doubles.
Senior Megan Peach also scored in double figures with 15 points, while Donovan added a team-high four assists and three blocks.
Senior Vanessa Duarte collected a game-high five steals and finished with five points.
The Eagles will now wait to hear where they will play next as the NAC announces its conference tournament schedule on Monday.
