Box Score BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's basketball team picked up a 94-75 North Atlantic Conference over Thomas College on Sunday for senior day.
Husson (9-7, 6-1 NAC) and Thomas (4-10, 1-7 NAC) traded leads throughout the opening 13 minutes of the first half on Sunday, before graduate student AJ Barnes converted on a layup to help the Eagles finish the half on a 32-24 scoring run to take a 49-39 edge into the break.
The Terriers opened the second half on a 16-8 scoring run to pull within 57-55 of the Eagles, but Husson's offense caught fire over the final 10 minutes of play closing the game on a 37-20 scoring run to pick up the 94-75 victory.
Graduate student Justin Thompson finished with a game-high 18 points and five assists, while senior Justice Kendall dropped 15 points and a game-high five steals and matched Thompson's game-high five assists.
Senior DJ Bussey finished with 11 points, while sophomore Jeremy Moronta tallied a career-high 14 points, adding three steals and five rebounds.
Husson finished with a 43-32 rebound margin while racking up 16 steals and three blocks, all three blocks coming from sophomore Jared Balser who finished with six points and five rebounds.
Prior to the game, Husson recognized five seniors as Bussey, Thompson, Barnes, Kendall and Brett Cunningham were all recognized pregame during a senior game ceremony.
The Eagles return to action on Wednesday when they host Maine Maritime Academy at 5:30 p.m.
