Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine — The Husson University women's basketball team picked up a 57-43 North Atlantic Conference victory over Thomas College on the road Friday evening.
Husson (10-4, 6-0 NAC) started Friday's conference clash shooting well from the floor and opened up an 18-10 advantage following the opening quarter.
The Eagles kept their scoring going in the second quarter controlling a 33-25 edge at the break before the defense took over in the third quarter limiting the Terriers to an impressive three points to increase the deficit to 46-28.
Thomas (2-12, 1-5 NAC) managed to outscore Husson 15-11 in the final quarter, but the damage had been done early as Husson managed to stay unbeaten in conference play.
Senior Vanessa Duarte finished with a game-high 17 points and five steals, adding five rebounds and three assists while senior Megan Peach made it back-to-back double-doubles with a 12-point, 12-rebound performance.
Sophomore Makaelyn Porter finished with 12 points and three steals while fellow sophomore Trinity Montigny recorded seven points, four boards and three steals.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday when they host University of Maine – Fort Kent at 5:30 p.m.
