Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team traveled to Thomas College on Friday night and picked up a 89-70 North Atlantic Conference victory over the Terriers at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium. With the victory, the Eagles are 5-1 in the NAC and 8-7 overall while Thomas falls to 4-9 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
The Eagles opened up the contest scoring the first ten points as they led for the whole first half. The Terriers were able to cut the lead down to as little as a point but Husson led, 43-38, at halftime.
In the second half, the Eagles killed any attempt at a Terriers comeback as they won the second half by 16 en route to the 19 point victory.
Seniors Justice Kendall and DJ Bussey led the scoring attack for the Eagles with 22 points each while junior Cam Wood collected 11 rebounds. Graduate student Justin Thompson picked up the double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Eagles take tomorrow off for the snow day then will return to Newman Gym on Sunday, January 30th as they host Thomas College to conclude the NAC series with the Terriers. Tip-off on Sunday is scheduled for 2 p.m. and spectators are required to mask up in order to attend the game. Prior to the contest, the Eagles will be honoring their graduating seniors; Bussey, Thompson, Kendall, Brett Cunningham, and AJ Barnes.
