Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine — Junior Bailey Donovan's 27-point, 15-rebound double-double helped Husson University women's basketball beat the University of Maine at Farmington 71-61 on Saturday to remain unbeaten in North Atlantic Conference play.
Husson (8-4, 6-0 NAC) held on to a 19-18 advantage following the opening quarter of play on Saturday and lead 31-30 at the break after UMF (6-6, 1-3 NAC) finished even with the Eagles as 12 points apiece for the quarter.
The Eagles increased their lead to 47-45 heading into the final quarter of play when the offense finally got going and opened up a double-digit advantage. Husson ended the final quarter on a 24-16 scoring run as Donovan finished with 10 of her game-high 27 points.
Additionally, Donovan finished with 21 second half points, while sophomore Makaelyn Porter finished one point shy of tying a career-high with 16 points in the victory, scoring eight of those down the stretch in the final quarter.
Senior Megan Peach finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, while fellow senior Vanessa Duarte dished out a game-high seven assists.
The Eagles return to the hardwood on Tuesday when they host Maine Maritime Academy at 7:30 p.m. in conference action.
