FARMINGTON, Maine — An early second half run propelled Husson University men's basketball past University of Maine at Farmington 73-67 in North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday.

Husson (7-7, 4-1 NAC) trailed UMF (6-5, 2-2 NAC) 32-30 following the opening 20 minutes of action, but the Eagles came out looking to change momentum early in the second half.

Sophomore Jared Balser led all second half scorers with 10 of his career-high 12 points, while senior's DJ Bussey and Justice Kendall converted 5-6 from behind the 3-point arc combined for the half. 

The Eagles gained the lead with 18:32 remaining at 34-32 as both squads traded leads up until the 13:52 mark, when Kendall converted his second of three second half 3-pointers to give Husson a 47-44 edge. 

The Beavers would keep it close over the final 13 minutes of play, but the Eagles benefitted from clutch shooting, including a late 3-pointer from J Thomas to help seal the victory. 

Kendall finished with a game-high 20 points, while Bussey tallied 13 points and six rebounds.

Graduate student Justin Thompson finished one rebound shot of back-to-back double-doubles with 14 points and nine boards, while Thomas finished with five points, five boards and a team-high six assists. 

Husson returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Maine Maritime Academy at 5:30 p.m. for a NAC showdown.
