Box Score BANGOR, Maine — Husson University women's basketball combined for 22 steals in its 67-31 victory over Cazenovia College on Saturday in North Atlantic Conference play.
Husson (6-4, 4-0 NAC) got off to a strong defensive start in Saturday's conference clash, limiting the Cazenovia (1-15, 0-6 NAC) to just six points in the opening quarter and nine in the second to control a 29-15 edge heading into the break.
The Eagles scoring came alive in the second half finishing with 21 points in the third quarter followed by 17 in the final quarter of play. Husson managed to limit the Wildcats to just five points in the fourth quarter.
Junior Bailey Donovan continued her stellar season with another 20-point, 10 rebound double-double, while senior Cassie Urso added 12 points.
Freshman Roxanne Sasse turned in best performance of the year with a career-high eight points and six steals. While senior Vanessa Duarte tallied nine points and a game-high six assists.
Additionally, Senior Megan Peach finished with eight rebounds and six points as Husson's starters combined for 53 of the teams 67 points.
The Eagles return to action on Monday when they travel to the University of Southern Maine for a 5:30 p.m. non-conference tilt.
