BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's basketball team (2-0) rolled to a, 77-41, win over the Thomas College Terriers  (0-1) Friday night in their second game of the abbreviated 2021 season.

IN THE ACTION:

This one was over early, as it got started with an Amanda D'Amico three, and was followed up with a Sydney Allen layup and jumper from Emma Alley. Husson was out to a 7-0 lead just two minutes into the game. The Eagles extended it to a 19-2 advantage after just six and a half minutes into the first quarter, and led 21-6 after one. 

The scoring continued at a high volume in the second quarter, as the Eagles finished the first half on a 10-0 run to take a 39-13 lead into halftime. Katherine Alley led the way in the first half with nine points, and Vanessa Duarte had six. Bailey Donovan had nine first half rebounds for the Eagles. 

The Eagles continued to dominate the floor in the second half. Donavan started the half with six-straight points on two layups and a jumper, and Allen, K. Alley and Trinity Montigny all chipped in on the scoring to extend Husson's lead to 53-24 after three. The Eagles went on to get their second win this month. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• After missing the first game of the season against UMPI, Sydney Allen came back to lead the Eagles in scoring with 17 points on the night.

• Bailey Donovan once again a force down low for the Eagles,  finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocks.

• First-year Katherine Alley collected her first points of her college career, with 13 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field. 

• Thomas first-year Alydia Brillant paced the Terriers with 17 points.

The two teams play the second game of a back-to-back, home-and-home series on Saturday at Thomas College. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
