Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team led by as much as 43 points in an eventual 105-66 victory over Northern Vermont University-Lyndon on Saturday afternoon in the Newman Gymnasium.
IN THE ACTION:
Husson (3-0) opened up an early 19-8 advantage with the help of eight consecutive points by DJ Bussey, then four straight points by Justice Kendall, a three by Bussey and buckets by Scott Lewis and Isaac Varney. Northern Vermont-Lyndon (1-2) answered with a 6-2 run to close the gap to six midway through the period.
The Eagles took control from there, utilizing a 12-0 run over the next three minutes fueled by four points from Lewis to extend their advantage to 18 (32-14). Husson would go on to hold a 51-30 lead at the break.
Husson cruised the rest of the way for the victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Bussey scored a game-high 23 points, while adding two rebounds, two steals and a block.
- Leading the charge, Peyton Olsen netted 14 points for the Hornets with four boards.
- Lewis had a double-double off the bench, socring 18 points and grabbing 11 boards. He also added three blocks and a steal.
- Kendall finished the game with 12 points, four assists, a steal and a rebound.
