Box Score BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's basketball team fell to Bates College 65-48 in non-conference action Monday evening.
Husson (4-4) trailed Bates 14-11 following the opening quarter of play, but a strong second quarter saw the Eagles ahead 23-21 at the break.
The Eagles increased their advantage to 25-21 in the opening minutes of the second half, however, Bates (7-1) closed out the third quarter on a 19-9 scoring run to take a 40-34 lead heading into the final quarter.
The Bobcats continued their momentum into the fourth quarter outscoring the Eagles 25-14 over the final 10 minutes to pick up the 65-48 win.
Junior Bailey Donovan lead the Cougars with 12 points and a game-high 18 rebounds
Freshman Sophia McVicar posted a career-high 10 points, while junior Cassie Urso added six points and a team-high three assists.
The Eagles return to action on Dec. 29 when they travel to Lakes Wales, Florida for the Warner Classic, battling Southeastern University with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
