Men's Swimming & Diving School Records fall in Lost to Eastern Connecticut State

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - The Husson University men's swimming & diving drops their first dual meet of the season to Eastern Connecticut State University, 140-113, on Saturday afternoon  at the Sports Center on the campus of Eastern Connecticut State University.

THE RUNDOWN:

  • Senior Steven Johnston, Senior Joe Vail, Senior Andrew Cote and Senior Dan Egan combined to win the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.45.
  • Sophomore Dakota Grover, Sophomore Ben Carusi, First Year Hunter Jackson and Junior Spencer Bernat swam togehter for a third place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:58.64.
  • First Year Nathan Gilliam won the 1650 Free with a new school record time of 18:52.55, beating the previous record by two minutes. He finished third in the 100 Breast (1:16.13) and second in the 400 IM (4:54.58).
  • First Year Isaias Therio finished third in the 200 Free (2:07.42) and the 200 Breast (2:51.28), and fourth in the 50 Free (25.41).
  • First Year Ben Main-Sobel was fourth in the 200 Free (2:10.17), sixth in the 100 Free (57.25), and third in the 500 Free (6:10.68).
  • Cote placed fifth in the 200 Free (2:11.49) and fourth in the 500 Free (6:18.23).
  • Bernat finished second in the 100 Back (1:10.10).
  • Grover placed third in the 100 Back (1:11.17), and fourth in the 200 Back (2:42.51) and the 100 Fly (1:12.93).
  • Senior Jordan McCoy was fourth in the 100 Back (1:14.83), and fifth in the 200 Back (2:48.74) and the 100 Fly (1:22.56).
  • Vail took a second place finish in the 100 Breast (1:09.43) and the 200 Breast (2:35.90), and a third place finish in the 400 IM (5:01.26).
  • Johnston finished second in the 200 Fly with a school record time of 2:15.77, beating the previous record by five seconds. He also won the 100 Free (51.27)
  • Egan placed second in the 50 Free (23.50) and third in the 100 Free (54.46).
  • Sophomore Nathan Ober was fifth in the 50 Free (31.85).
  • Jackson took a second place finish in the 200 Back (2:26.83) and third in the 100 Fly (1:04.82).
  • Carusi finished fourth in the 200 Breast (2:56.80).
  • Sophomore Jacob Harper was fith in the 500 Free (6:50.63).
  • Johnston, Egan, Therio and Bernat finished second in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:35.73. They were just out touch by .02 by the Warrors in the event.
  • Main-Sobel, Carusi, Gilliam and Cote swam together to finished third in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:43.12.

The Eagles return to the pool on December 4th at Regis (Mass.).
