Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team shot 57% from the floor as they made easy work of the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Friday night at Newman Gymnasium in the home opener. With the 97-63 victory, the Eagles move to 2-1 on the season while the Bengals fall to 2-3.
There were four lead changes in the early part of the game before the Eagles used a 10-0 run in the middle of the first half to take a 16 point lead at halftime. Senior DJ Bussey led the charge with 14 points while senior Justice Kendall had 11.
In the second half, the Eagles outscored the Bengals, 50-32. The Eagles opened the half with seven straight points then it became the J Thomas shot. The senior led the Eagles in the second half as he had 14 points including four three's in eight minutes played as the Eagles won by 34.

One game remaining before the Thanksgiving break for Husson as they will meet up with the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (Maine) for the 91st time. The two teams will battle for the 4th Annual Alumni Cup on Saturday, November 20th at Newman Gym with tip-off at 1 p.m.
