Field Hockey Drops Conference Game at Thomas (ME)

WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson University field hockey team fell to Thomas College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at Bernatchez Field in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup. With the win, the Terriers maintain their lead atop the conference standings at 5-0 while the Eagles remain in second at 4-2. Overall, Thomas College has six wins while the Eagles have five wins and both teams have seven losses.

Despite 11 combined shots and 12 penalty corners in the first quarter the game was scoreless after the first 15 minutes. In the second quarter it was the Terriers that got on the board first from Britney Gregoire. The Eagles were able to tie the game minutes later as Ryley Newcomb assisted on Teagan Blackie's third goal of the season. 

The game would remain tied until the fourth quarter as Kallee Turner scored twice en route to the 3-1 victory for the Terriers. 

Kimmie Goddard made six saves in the loss for the Eagles while Alexis Bowman earned a two-save victory. 

The two teams get two days off before meeting each other again but this time at the Winkin Sports Complex on Tuesday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m.
