VERMONT -- First year outside hitter Julia Leavitt had a match high 11 kills to lead Husson to a 3-0 sweep over Northern Vermont-Lyndon in a North Atlantic Conference volleyball match at Stannard Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. The Eagles won by scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17 and improved to 3-11 overall and 1-2 in the North Atlantic Conference. 

Earlier in the day, Husson lost to Northern Vermont-Johnson, 3-1. The Eagles won 25-20 but then NVU-Johnson won by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-20. Junior Cheyenne Young led the Eagles with 14 kills and Leavitt recorded 12 kills and hit .435. Senior Adrienne Beatty led all players with her match high of 20 digs. First year Alyvia McIntyre dished out 18 assists in the match. 

Husson won the opener with only four errors, but NVU-Johnson made just two errors in the second set and just 10 combined in the three straight set victories. Christina Betham had 16 kills and Vanessa Chavez made 14 digs for the winners. 

In the nightcap, Young added seven kills also with a strong attack percentage of .600 for Husson. McIntyre led the Eagles with 12 assists and Beatty posted a team high nine digs. 

Husson hit .353 in the first set while held NVU-Lyndon to a -.091 mark, forcing seven attack errors. Husson also was solid defensively in the third match as the Hornets hit -.033 and once again, had seven errors. The Hornets fell to 0-13 and 0-2.

Kiana Jones had 10 kills to lead Northern Vermont-Lyndon. Charlotte Morris had 13 assists and five digs for the hosts while Calyste Lohman added seven digs with six kills. 

Husson returns to action Wednesday night at Colby at 7:00 p.m.
