Box Score BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team honored their seniors in a big way with a 10-0 victory over the Northern Vermont-Lyndon Hornets on Saturday afternoon at Boucher Field. With the victory, the Eagles remain perfect in the North Atlantic Conference at 8-0 while the Hornets remain winless in the conference at 0-7.
Prior to the match, birthday boy and head coach Dennis Mullins and his coaching staff honored their 15 seniors: Shie Smith, Jaley Martin, Riana Winslow, Emily Helgerson, Sydney Drew, Britney Duchesneau, Maja Hoglund, Britney Bubar, Lizzie White, Tia Mamula, Bri Saulter, Shannon Dowd, Colby Brown, Alyssa Driscoll, and Mackenzie St. Pierre.
It took under 90 seconds to start the scoring when Höglund's cross was met by Dowd for her fourth goal of the season. The assist by Höglund was her first point as an Eagle.
There would be an 18 minute break from goals before the Eagles would add two in a ten minute span as St. Pierre scored her third of the season then Charlotte Messer added her eighth of the season.
Before halftime the Eagles would add three more goals in a 2:14 span as that would break their program record for fastest consecutive three goals scored. Molly Ennis started the record with her fourth of the season then Messer added her second of the game and Natalie Aviolla scored her thirteenth goal of the season.
In the second half , the Eagles added three more goals in a ten minute period as Aviolla scored her second, then Camryn Rolfe scored back-to-back rebound goals. Drew would cap off the scoring on the stroke of full time with her fourth of the season.
Aviolla, in addition to her goal, assisted on three goals while Sophia Mullins added two assists.
Smith earned her fourth win of the season as her defense allowed her to not face a single shot.
The last non-conference fixture of the season awaits the Eagles next as they host Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday, October 20th with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
