Eagles Fall Behind Lasers, 88-69

Box Score

BANGOR, Maine – Despite a close score at the conclusion of the first half, the Husson University men's basketball team couldn't keep up with the Lasers of Lasell University at home on Thursday night in non-conference action. The final score of the game finished at 88-69.

IN THE ACTION:

Lasell opened scoring quickly in the first half, going on a 6-0 run in the opening three minutes before Husson answered with the next seven points thanks to two DJ Bussey jumpers, separated by a three-pointer from Brett Cunningham. A pair of threes from Justice Kendall and Cunningham along with a layup from Bruce St. Peter helped bring the Eagles to just a four-point deficit going into the second half of action to comeback from a 12-point setback. Lasell outscored Husson, 40-36, after twenty minutes. Two Lasers (Jonathan Friberg and Kevin Nunez) and one Eagle (Justice Kendall) finished out the opening half with 12 points apiece.

A buzzer beater three from Kendall helped fuel the Eagles during the second half. Justin Thompson quickly lay one up for two points to start off the drive for the Eagles followed by Bussey's two-made free throws. Despite Husson's efforts, Lasell went on a 10-2 run, bringing the Lasers to an 19-point lead over the Eagles in the last 20 minutes of action.
