Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – The Husson University women's basketball team defeated Thomas College by a score of 90-56 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Larry Mahaney Gymnasium.
The Terriers finish their season at 9-16 (6-12 NAC) while the Eagles move on to the NAC Tournament at 16-9 (14-4 NAC).
The Eagles held a slim advantage throughout the first quarter on seven points from Kenzie Worcester. Thomas kept pace and eventually took a 17-15 lead before the buzzer behind a pair of threes from Karli Stubbs.
Husson took control out of the gate in the second as they began on an 8-0 run including back-to-back threes from Jordan Butler. The Terriers struggled offensively with the Eagles full court pressure, turning the ball over 10 times as they trailed 45-27 at the break.
The Terriers fell into a deeper hole in the third quarter as they were outscored 26-14. Worcester added another eight points for the Eagles, while Stubbs chipped in with another five for Thomas.
The Eagles finished the contest with a 19-15 margin in the final frame to complete the 90-56 victory.
Worcester netted a game-high 19 points along with four rebounds, and four assists for Husson. Sami Ireland and Megan Peach each contributed with 12 points in the win, while Peach competed the double-double with 12 boards. Butler also reached double figures with ten points and three rebounds.
Stubbs ended with a team-high 16 points for Thomas. Nikki Bradstreet recorded eight points and three rebounds while Amira Jones, Jordan Turner, and Sammie Griffin each finished with seven points.
