Box Score BANGOR, Maine - Colby College (5-4) defeated Husson University (1-7), 7-0, in non-conference field hockey action on a rainy Tuesday evening at Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Colby didn't waste anytime to get onto the scoreboard as Eliza Mell took a pass from Georgia Cassidy and shot the ball pass Husson's keeper Andrea Shaggy one minute and 58 seconds into game to take a 1-0 lead.
The Mules added a late goal off the stick of Cassidy to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
In the second half, Colby recieved two goals from Cassidy and goals from Maddie Schoeni, Emily Hogan and Merrill Read for the 7-0 victory. Ally Corbett and Myri Skodock were credited with assists on Hogan's goal and Cassidy's third goal of the game.
THE KEEPERS:
Shaggy made a career-high 17 saves over 70 minutes of play while her counterpart, Colby's Riley Whitnyer stoped all 13 shots she faced in the victory.
TEAM STATS:
The Mules outshot the Eagles, 28-15, and finished with a 7-5 edge in penalty corners.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday to face Keystone College in New Haven, Conn. on the campus of Albertus Magnus. The non-conference game is slated to start at 2:00 p.m.
