Box Score CASTINE, Maine – The Husson University men's basketball team stole their second win off of Maine Maritime Academy this season, defeating the Mariners 93-56 on Saturday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action inside of Smith Gymnasium.
The Eagles improved their overall record to 8-2 and 5-0 in the NAC with the win.
The Eagles jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the opening seconds and never looked back. At the half, the Husson men held a season-high lead of 54-22, as they continued on this momentum to earn the win.
Riley Jorgenson led the Mariners (1-11, 0-5 NAC) with 14 points, five rebounds, one steal and a block, while Nicholas DePatsy chipped in 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Husson's Raheem Anderson led all players with 24 points, while also adding on five rebounds, four steals, a pair of assists and a block. Off of the bench, DJ Bussey contributed 17 points, three steals and a rebound while Justin Martin helped out with 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a block. Kyanti Blyden rounded out the players in double-digits with 12 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
The Eagles shot 49.3 percent from the floor, while the Mariners shot 33.3 percent. Husson also held a 52-28 edge in rebounds.
The Husson men's basketball team will be traveling to the University of Maine-Farmington on Tuesday, Jan. 9th for another conference game on the road. Tip-off will be at 7:30 pm.
