Box Score JOHNSON, Vt. – The Husson University men's basketball team defeated Johnson State College 97-71 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Friday night at Carter Gym.
The Eagles improve to 11-4 (8-1 NAC), while the Badgers drop to 5-9 (2-6 NAC) on the season.
1st HALF
The teams stayed close throughout the opening half, with the Badger maintaining a steady lead in the early going and Husson taking control by the end of the half. Neither team could put together a substantial run to grab a large lead. The Eagles were able to take a 38-32 lead after the first twenty minutes. DJ Bussey paced Husson with 10 points in the half, while Corey Kaiser dominated the boards with six rebounds.
2nd HALF
The Eagles came out strong in the second half, going on a 21-8 run over the first six minutes. The five players who started the half for HU all participated in the 21-point outburst. Husson would continue to build their lead through the half, stretching it to as much as 35 late in the game and moving on to the 97-71 victory. Cole Thomas and Bussey each poured in 11 points to lead their squad in the second half.
