BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's soccer team fell to the University of New England, 3-2, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday at the John P. Boucher field.

In the 3-2 loss, the Eagles fell to 1-3 (0-0 NAC), while the Nor'easters improve to 4-1.

The first half of the game featured fast-paced play with scoring chances on both ends, but the Nor'easters struck first on a penalty kick from Katie Beaudoin in the 26th minute mark of the game. The Eagles answered back to tie the game 1-1 when Leah Hibbad was awarded a penalty kick and shot past the goalkeeper for her fifth goal of the season.

With 17 minutes remaining in the game, Husson took the lead, 2-1, when Hibbad soared past the UNE defense and found the back of the net for her second goal of the game.

The Nor'easters notched the score 2-2 with a powerful shot from Jenna Cowan. Husson's defense held strong, not allowing any goal on the next three corner kicks. But, with three minutes remaining, Murphy drove the ball up the field and chipped the ball past Ireland, giving the Nor'easters a 3-2 lead.
