Womens Volleyball Falls in NAC Semifinals to Colby-Sawyer

CASTINE, Maine - THe Husson University women's volleyball team was defeated by the Colby-Sawyer Chargers, 3-0 (25-14, 27-25, 25-14), on Friday night in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Semifinals inside of Smith Gymnasium.

The Chargers took the first set by a score of 25-14. The second set was an extremely back-and-forth battle as the Eagles held a late 21-19 lead, but Colby-Sawyer narrowly escaped with a 27-25 victory.
 
The Chargers took the match with a 25-14 victory in the third set.
 
First Team All-Conference selection Naarah Cox led the Chargers with 11 kills, and added three blocks and a dig, while Olivia Goodrich tallied a double-double of 29 assists and 11 digs, and Morgan Flynn led all players with 13 digs. 
 
Bailey Cote, a First Team All-Conference selection, led the Eagles with four kills and also contributed two digs and an ace. Hanna Hembrow led Husson with nine digs and nine assists, while Riley Mooers tallied five aces and Second Team All-Conference Nia Arranaga finished the game with two kills, one ace, and four digs.
 
The Husson Eagles conclude their successful 2017 season at 16-11, which included the program's first ever victory of Colby-Sawyer.
