Eagles Drop Non-Conference Game to Polar Bears

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team fell to Bowdoin College on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at Boucher Field. The Polar Bears won the game 6-0.

Sophia Lemmer put Bowdoin (4-1) on the board 5:50 into the game with an unassisted tally. The Polar Bears extended their lead to 4-0 going into intermission with goals from Julia Patterson (Brigit Bergin) at 30:35, Kate Rusk-Kosa (32:52) and Brigit Bergin (Ivy Ricca) at 40:20.

Bergin scored the final two goals of the game in the 73rd and 77th minutes with Julia Bottone setting up the first while Kate Morrison was credited with the assist on the second.

Kayla Gordon started in goal for Husson (2-4) and tallied eight saves before Angela Daigle stopped five shots in the second half.

Rachel Stout started in net for the Polar Bears and made one stop, giving way to Anne Parrish and Sabrina Albanese who split the second half. Parrish had one save.

Mollie Roy, Hannah Clough and Leah Hibbad each had a shot for the Eagles.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday, Sept. 24 when they travel to Maine-Farmington for a 2:30 p.m. North Atlantic Conference game. The Polar Bears travel to Middlebury on Saturday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
