CASTINE, Maine – Husson University women's basketball defeat Maine Maritime Academy by a score of 74-57 on Saturday afternoon, in North Atlantic Conference play inside of Smith Gymnasium.

Husson (7-3, 5-0 NAC) wins its fifth-straight league game, while Maine Maritime (5-6, 2-3 NAC) loses its fifth-consecutive game to the Eagles and falls to 14-15 in the all-time series.

The Eagles held a 14-9 advantage after the first quarter, and outscored the Mariners 17-7 in the second quarter to take a 31-16 lead into the intermission.

The Mariners score eight-unanswered points to open up the final quarter, cutting Husson's lead to 53-38, but the Eagles held on to take the 74-57 victory.

Tess Clark led the Mariners with a double-double, tallying 18 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, while Alayne Felix added 14 points, six rebounds and Mikayla Charters, Maggie McConkey and Mackenzie Vosburgh each contributed five points.

Husson's Victoria McIntyre led all players with 25 points, while adding five rebounds. Rebecca Young, Kenzie Worcester and Chandler Guerrette added nine points apiece.

Maine Maritime will travel to Maine-Farmington on Tuesday, January 12 at 5:30 pm for a NAC matchup, while Husson will also return to the court on Tuesday, January 12 when they travel to Waterville to take on Thomas at 7:30 p.m. in a NAC matchup.
