Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Husson University women's basketball team fell to Bowdoin College 94-49 in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Morrell Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears are now 13-5 this season while The Eagles fall to 12-4 and see their seven-game winning streak come to an end.
Bowdoin knocked down four early three-pointers, including three from Lauren Petit, to sprint to an early 16-5 lead after five minutes of play. With the next five points coming from Kenzie Worcester, The Eagles trailed 22-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Polar Bears came out hard in the second quarter, but the last 5 straight points from Victoria McIntyre kept the Bowdoin lead 48-25 going into intermission.
Worcester, who lead the Eagles with 13 points in the game, notched six points in the third quarter. The Eagles could not hold on as Bowdoin went on to take the 94-49 win.
Worcester lead the team with 13 points and six rebounds, while McIntyre had eight points and two assists. Chandler Guerrette had six points for the Eagles and Anna McKenzie posed a strong defensive game with five rebounds. Shannon Brady scored a game-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Polar Bears. Lauren Petit had 15 points and Aly Silfen had 13.
Bowdoin returns to NESCAC play on Saturday when they travel to Waterville to face Colby at 3:00 p.m. Husson will head to New England College for a NAC conference game Friday evening at 5:30 p.m.
